Year One Students
The 2008 Year 1 MEET students consists of 38 youths chosen from 30 high schools in Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Bet Shemesh, Mevasseret, and Ramallah. The selection process was rigorous and competitive, with an initial pool of over 440 applicants. After completing their first summer at MEET, these students have started the yearlong program, in which they will be developing small scale software tools for personal and professional use with local mentors from the high-tech industry and academia.
Year Two Students
Following their completion of MEET’s second summer program, the 34 most committed year two students have just started their second yearlong program in which they will be working on real-world projects, developing innovative IT solutions for Palestinian and Israeli companies and non-profit organizations.
Alums
Following their graduation from the three-year program, MEET’s alums are off pursuing degrees and promising careers. Many alums continue to stay involved with MEET through the Alumni Network, by helping recruit new students, acting as project mentors and teaching assistants to current students in the summer and yearlong programs, and through other activities that strengthen their professional and personal ties.
